Pagan Gould

Hi all and welcome to my page....

I’m going to tell you a bit about myself, my interests and how I got into the music which I play for you today..... So here goes.....

MY LOVE FOR MUSIC......I suppose I got into the music the same way as a lot of people, through my parents... my dad was (and still is) an original teddy boy, and together with my mum always with the radio on or the tape player with the Everly Brothers or Roy Orbison blasting out it’s no wonder I got into music the way I did.

I used to listen to the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys and other sixties bands, and found they used to cover older songs. So I just looked back and found a whole world of music that I could dig........ “Rock and Roll”.
I also like Rockabilly, Country Rock, Western Swing, Doo Wop, Psychobilly and also some pop music, if it’s played well then it’s worth listening to.

GIGS AND CLUBS......I have been a face on the scene now for about 25 years and have followed a lot of bands all over the country. That is how I became good friends with The Firebirds; I have known them nearly 20 years and have seen a lot of changes to the band over the years. I’ve lost count how many times I have seen them live before joining them. There was a bit of a standing joke once as they used to ask me what songs were in their sets. I have had some great nights out and have fond memories of many of the old RnR clubs.
It is very sad how many of the old “Rocking” clubs are now gone, but there are always more popping up all over the country to take their place.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS......Over the years I have had a few cars and bikes and scooters, some pictures have been put on this page as a few of you might find them of interest.
I’m not what you call a car buff, but I do know what I like, I go more on the looks of a car than the technical specks, and the same with bikes. At the moment I drive a Vectra and ride a yellow and black 600 Yamaha Fazer (yes I know, a bumble bee).
Darts has always played a big part in my life, playing for 3 different teams at one stage, also playing against some of the greats of the darts world, but that did take a back step when music came along.
I do like to spend time with the family and involve them as much as I can, and my children also take an interest in the world of entertainment. Lewis plays a mean guitar and gets a tune out of just about anything you put in front of him, and Tessa likes to sing and dance, and is part of a dance troupe, performing in theatre twice yearly..
I also have a love of tattoos. I have nearly completed full sleeves on both arms, although there are still a few gaps, it is a work in progress. I will add pictures of them a bit later on. I am trying too get the rest of the boys into them but I would have too knock them out or get them drunk first.

SINGING.......my interest for singing started at primary school, I was always in the choir and used to represent my school at various competitions up and down the country and soon found I had a natural talent for singing. As for singing with bands, I used to have a regular sort of spot (when we went to see them) with a band called The Rocking Bandits, they used to be one of my mums favourite bands. From there I became the front man of my first band in about 1995 – 96 called The Hound Dogs. That was great fun and we used to do the local working men’s clubs, for a night out more than anything. My big break came one night when we supported The Firebirds at a local RnR club, we went down a storm and I was snapped up by a semi pro (and new to the scene at the time) band called The Wanderers.
The Wanderers have had a lot of success over the years on the rocking scene, and continue to rock and roll without me, as they are now fronted by my talented wife Katy Jane.
The Wanderers Duo aka me and the wife, still do the odd gig now and again if I’m not already out playing with The Firebirds.......

BASS MAN...... I have always had a love for the bass but never thought I would ever play it in a band, let alone The Firebirds. Having the opportunity to play for the boys is awesome, and my first year has gone swingingly. I’ve made loads of friends and done gigs in Denmark, Spain and Italy, with more travelling to come!

2011 looks like being another hectic year for us, touring all over the country and even more gigs in Europe. There is also a new album nearing completion! I will be updating my page on a regular basis so please come check it out, and don’t forget to look at what else is going on with the rest of the boys and also the constantly updated gig guide........

Keep On Rockin!!!!
